I am a very fussy television watcher. My limits are normally documentaries, films and the news. However from time to time I will try the occasional pilot of a new TV drama. I won’t watch a series unless I have seen it from the beginning. I would have to say that in the past 10 years I have only closely followed two series (excluding Star Trek :p) Those would be Six Feet Under and Dexter and I love them both.
So we come to the new kid, one that is so far putting them both to shame.
This series is adult drama at it’s best. It has it all. From amazingly funny dark, and I mean dark, humour. To moments of sheer dramatic brilliance. The line is towed by the star Bryan Cranston who you may remember from Malcolm in the Middle. To be honest he is the reason I picked it up in the first place. I thought he was brilliant then and he has taken it to a new level with this. There are of course downsides. His sidekick, I don’t know the actor, isn’t on top form so far and for all I know he may never get there. But…
All in all this is first class drama. Weighing in at a measly 7 episodes for the first season I hope the second isn’t long in coming. If you haven’t seen Breaking Bad yet, find it somehow.
Oh, you want to know what it’s about? Google is your friend.
That is all.
